This project is a lot of work. Accessing public records is supposed to be as simple as sending a request — but it often isn’t. Many agencies will ignore requests or refuse to release documents, forcing me to write appeals, make phone calls to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office, and do other follow-up work. Maintaining this website also takes time and money.
